For a number of years now SMA has supported members who wish to work on a job sharing basis, and SMA remains committed to supporting job shares backstage in any way that we can.
Responding to requests from members SMA has agreed to including job share information in Freelist for a trial period. We and our partners are now making the necessary technical changes to Blueform and Freelist (making up the list is a mostly automated process, so changes need to be made to the underlying coding) We will include a Job sharers section in the list from the March list. We are notifying members now so that as many as possible of our Freelist users are aware of this new opportunity Blueform will include this section for submissions for the March list from February 9th (after February Freelist)
How will it Work? From the 9th February - after the February Freelist deadline - members will be able to list themselves as available for job share on the Blueform, either naming their job share partner, or indicating that they are willing to job share and will work with producers to create a suitable sharing arrangement. Members should note the following points:
- if partners are named all job sharers must be eligible SMA members.
- A member can only have one listing on Freelist per month so if you choose the job share option your listing for that month will be in the job share section only
- You will still be able to post availability dates (‘from’ and ‘to’ if you wish) and if your listing includes the name(s) of job share partner(s) you should all use the same dates.
- You will still need to submit Blueform details for each month you wish to be listed and you can opt in or out of the job share section each time you submit
- You will still be able to review or change any Blueform submission that you make by using the edit function in your account at any time up to the deadline on 7th of the month. (in the usual way)
- Because of the work behind the scenes the February list deadline at midnight on Friday 7th Feb. will be strictly adhered to : PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT SUBMISSIONS FOR FEBRUARY FREELIST REACH US BEFORE MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY 7th FEB.
Freelist is a very important and unique service for SMA members and so we don’t make changes to the Freelist often. We be testing that the changes work properly and wish to be sure that they are what members want before this change is made permanent.
