Showcaller Training Workshop Monday 30th September

£150 Interactive workshop for anyone interested in getting a better understanding of the showcaller role and how producers are integral to our ability to call a show in giving us detail and more detail! 

The workshop is divided into 2 parts. 

Morning is a full explanation with discussion and Q&A on the challenges which are repetitive onsite and how they could be improved through some simple client interactions.

Transferable skills from theatre to corporate of which there are many Full explanation of all the departments. What they expect from the showcaller and we from them. 

Terminology. Understanding screen sets ups and Presets. What you need to build a showbook either digitally or on paper

 Afternoon session. Practical exercise on putting together a showbook from a small script, running order and PPT. 

This gives you a much better understanding of what a showcaller has to take on board when building their narrative in a showbook.

  • Roles & Responsibilities of a Showcaller
  • Why showcallers often have a theatre background. Transferable skills.
  • Working with Screens and Cameras, creating presets.
  • Explanation of how all Technical Departments work and what they expect from you
  • Working with the Producer and issues of client management
  • Discussion of approaches to the job and common challenges

Session 2        13.45 – 16.15

  • Marking up a showbook using a script
  • Practice calling a small show to give a taste of how it feels to actually do the job
